The Apex Music Department presents

Pops in the Park!  An Evening of Disney


Where: Koka Booth Amphitheatre 8003 Regency Parkway Cary NC 27511

Directions from the school: out of the parking lot turn left onto Laura Duncan. At the light, turn right onto 64. Keep straight onto Tryon Rd. Turn right onto Regency Parkway. You will then have a slight right a little farther on that road. Look for a sign that says Koka Booth. The sign has a treble clef on it. Amphitheatre is on the left.


When: May 25, 2017 7:00 free admission. Invite as many people as you’d like!


Rehearsals: Monday and Tuesday May 22-23 at the High School 2:30-3:30

Thursday May 25- (dinner provided for performers)

  • Wind Ensemble will go over during class to begin setting up.
  • Chorus call time 3:00
  • Orchestra and Wind Ensemble call time 3:30
  • Band I/II call time 5:00
  • Rehearsals and Concert are for a grade and are mandatory.
  • NHS inductees will be dismissed at 4:15—communicate with your teacher


Attire: Pops t-shirts (will be passed out in class at the end of the week)

Chorus-Orchid, Ochestra-pistachio, Band-light blue, black pants or ankle length black skirts, solid black shoes


Other Info: Carpool! The Koka Booth parking lot is shared with local businesses and some will be leaving the park when you arrive. The gates open at 6:15. Booster Board parents will be helping with set up and dinner and are the only parents allowed in the gate before 6:15. Concessions are open if you’d like to purchase dinner, snacks or drinks. You are welcome to bring in picnics. No alcoholic beverages and no smoking. This is a Wake County sponsored event. Students are not allowed in the audience after 6:30. Once the students arrive at Koka Booth, they are not allowed to leave the campus. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. You may rent a chair for $5. Rain will not stop the event. The event will on be postponed or canceled if there is lightening. If there is rain, there is a shelter near concessions where you can still listen to the concert. The stage is covered. Tents and umbrellas are not allowed.

Our Director, Heather Copley

Heather Copley has been the director at Apex High School for 19 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Voice from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Each year Mrs. Copley is the Music Director for the Apex Fine Arts Department's Musical Productions and is the advisor to the Apex High School Tri-M Honor Music Society. She is also a member of NCMEA, MENC, and ACDA.  Mrs. Copley serves as member at large on the NCMEA High School Chorus Executive Board.
